Playas: homeland mirage
Playas: homeland mirage brings together an installation and gaming in the contexts of suburbia and terrorism. Here, viewers move through an installation and see their ghost like shadows blend with the game.
Artwork strives to engage and delight; video games are no exception nor are they excluded from what is art. Playas: homeland mirage brings together an installation and gaming in the contexts of suburbia and terrorism. Here, viewers move through an installation and see their ghost like shadows blend with the game. To multimedia artwork, Playas amplifies the notion of social presence and environmental interactions. Social media and presence has now become a central focus within multimedia research. Many of the challenges therein, such as representation and fragility, were externalized years earlier through this hybrid installation.
