Lucinda Lavelli is the Dean of the College of Fine Arts at the University of Florida and former Provost at North Carolina School of the Arts and Director of the School of Dance, Theatre, and Arts Administration at the University of Akron. Her major curricular initiatives have been the use of technology for the arts, online education for access to arts education and the Creative Campus initiative at UF which seeks to infuse the academy with the arts to promote divergent thinking. She has spoken locally, nationally and internationally on the topic. She has served on arts and education boards and is currently, President for the International Council of Fine Arts Deans and part of the Alliance for the Arts at Research Universities. Lavelli earned an MFA in theater arts and dance and a master’s in nonprofit organization, both from Case Western Reserve University; a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Denison University; and, certificate in Laban Movement Analysis from the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies
