Eyebeam's 2014 Annual Showcase highlights innovative works produced at the organization over the last year. The Showcase celebrates Eyebeam artists’ preeminence in technology-based art and creative platforms through research-based practice. The Annual Showcase will also provide the public an opportunity to engage directly with the artists and creative technologists working at Eyebeam during a day of moderated conversations on Saturday, January 25th, 2014. Each year, the organization invites between 15 and 20 artists to join its residency and fellowship programs through a highly competitive open call. Selected artists are awarded a generous stipend, access to Eyebeam’s fabrication tools and working space, and the opportunity to interact with the public through installations, exhibitions, performances, symposia and workshops. This year’s Annual Showcase will be the last in Eyebeam’s Chelsea home, as the organization prepares for its exciting move to a temporary home and, in late 2016, to a new space in Brooklyn’s Downtown Cultural District opposite the BAM Opera House.
